Please plan on visiting the Basenji Measuring Station at the 2014 Basenji
Club of America's National Specialty. This will be the third and final year
the Measuring Station is offered so please drop by and have your Basenji
added to the pool of measurements. We welcome conformation,
performance, and companion Basenjis to the project! Times that the
station will be open for official measuring will be posted as the Nationals
schedule is finalized.

Pedigree Analysis, Genetic Diversity
and Genetic Disease Control. Dr. Jerry Bell, DVM
is a Clinical Associate Professor of Genetics at the Tufts Cummings
School of Veterinary Medicine. He is the conference coordinator for the
Tufts Canine and Feline Breeding & Genetics Conference
(www.vin.com/tufts/2013). Dr. Bell serves on the Board of Directors of
the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, and the hereditary diseases
committee of the World Small Animal Veterinary Medical Association.
He was trained in genetics and genetic counseling at Michigan State
University, and the University of Missouri. His DVM is from Cornell
University. He lectures extensively on clinical genetics and genetic
counseling, and advises breeds on genetic disease control and genetic
diversity issues. He and his wife breed Gordon Setters.
The Judges Education Seminar/Workshop will be held on Friday, Sept.
26, from 2-4:30pm, with ringside mentoring available Sept. 25, 26 and 27.
There is no charge but advance reservations are requested.
